What is an Ultrasound

An ultra­sound is a type of  scan which records images and diam­e­ters of inter­nal organs. All of the vas­cu­lar ultra­sounds are non-invasive and external.

What do I bring?

 All you need to bring to an appoint­ment is any pre­vi­ous scans for extra infor­ma­tion. Most of the infor­ma­tion will be on file if you are a cur­rent patient of Dr Sieunarine’s. You will also be required to bring your Medicare or DVA card to be bulk billed.

What prepa­ra­tion do I need to do?

There is no prepa­ra­tion involved for most scans. If you are hav­ing one of the fol­low­ing scans please fast for 6 hours, and no smok­ing or chew­ing gum for 2 hours before your scan.

How long will the scan take?

Most of the scans take 40 min­utes to 60 min­utes. If it will be longer staff will advise you at the time of mak­ing your appointment.
