West­Coast Vas­cu­lar’s cur­rent ultra­sound ser­vice is bulk billed to Medicare or DVA, pro­vid­ed we have a valid refer­ral. Scans can be done on a Tues­day or a Fri­day in the Hol­ly­wood Med­ical Cen­tre and alter­nate Fri­days in the Wex­ford Med­ical Cen­tre. Please note as we are a bulk bill clin­ic ultra­sound appoint­ments do fill up quickly.

What is an Ultrasound?

An ultra­sound is a type of  scan which records images and diam­e­ters of inter­nal organs. All of the vas­cu­lar ultra­sounds are non-inva­sive and external.

What do I bring?

All you need to bring to an appoint­ment is any pre­vi­ous scans for extra infor­ma­tion. Most of the infor­ma­tion will be on file if you are a cur­rent patient of Dr Sie­u­nar­ine’s. You will also be required to bring your Medicare or DVA card to be bulk billed.

What preparation do I need to do?

There is no prepa­ra­tion involved for most scans. If you are hav­ing one of the fol­low­ing scans please fast for 6 hours, and no smok­ing or chew­ing gum for 2 hours before your scan.

How long will the scan take?

Most of the scans take 60 min­utes to 120 min­utes. If it will be longer staff will advise you at the time of mak­ing your appointment.

Ultra­sound and Doppler appoint­ments are avail­able at the Hol­ly­wood Med­ical Cen­tre, Ned­lands and the Wex­ford Med­ical Cen­tre, Mur­doch. Please see our loca­tions page for spe­cif­ic address details.
